The book states that Rebajes was not known for his enamel work, but experimented with the technique in the late 1950's. Marked: "Rebajes" on the round hang tag. The discs measure 1 1/4 inches in diameter. The necklace measures 17 inches long. The copper has a dark, aged patina which could be polished off, but I leave that to the next owner. Clean, Modernist design in this mixed metal pin. Brass disk with applied copper accents. Marked: "HOGAN BOLAS". While they were students at RISD in the late 1940's, Robert Hogan and Deborah Bolas started and successfully ran a small jewelry business in Rhode Island until it was sold in 1992. They produced jewelry designs in copper and brass using a mixture of hand and machine work. They very successfully produced and sold thousands of pieces of enameled jewelry for more than a decade.
